Spokane WA

We are now the other side of the coastal mountains on the dry side of WA.  What a difference in climate, temperature vegetation and topography a 280 mile drive make.We left teh coastal forests of Seattle and drove into the coastal mountains where snow still exists.  From there downhill the topography changed from high mountains to low rolling hills.  The vegetation went from evergreen trees (coastal redwood, spruce etc to desert scrub brush). The climate went from fog overcast and drizzle to sunshine and large puffy white clouds. We stopped at Wild horse National Park lookout for a picture of the wild horses on the hillside (really nice sculptures) and down on the canyon below for the river and bridge. When just 10 miles from Spokane I blew the left rear tire on the RV.  Luckily it was a rear and we limped 5 miles to the nearest tire dealer and had it replaced.  Well that was just a small setback for this trip and I hope the last tire replacement.  I still have thespare on the rear.We are staying at the WA State Riverside Park at Spokane.  Really a lovely setting wht trees and right on the river. Just had an email from Cheryl and am glad to say that everything sound fine.  You all are doing just great without the old white haired guy.  Take care of the "Big Cheese" you know how fatherhood and a boy can go to a person's head.   Get lots of sleep now Dr. K because you will need the rest for later.Lorne
