Spokane the City

Well the morning started with a walk around the Riverside State Campground Mile 5 campsite with a walk over the suspension bridge and then viewing the rapids below it on the Spokane river.
Then we changed campgrounds to the Mile 9 campground right on the lake. Wow is this ever a neat campground with grassy sights and a view of the lake right in front of us and we are only 9 miles to town.
Later a drive into Spokane and going to the Riverfront State Park which was the sight of the 1974 World Fair and is on two islands in the center of the city. The sight on the old Burlington Northern Railyards it is now a city park with gondola rides over the falls (upper and lower Sokane river falls) and rides, ampitheaters and next weekend the sight of the largest 3 man basketball tournament in hte country.
We started with a trolly ride and tour of the park and it is a very large park. Next we walked over another two suspension bridges to view the upper falls. We thought that they were great but the lower falls were even more spectacular and we viewed them on the gondola from above the falls. You were right over them.
Next lunch at the Pita Pit in downtown Spokane and back to the campground.
I sat and read by the lake and watched the Canadian Geese swimming by.
Time to have a glass of wine and watch the sunset.
