From Nelson, BC to Monte Lake

We are now camped beside Monte Lake, BC and are boon docking, right on the water. It was a long drive and Bev is tired but the sunset here in the high mountains just invigorates me.
We left Nelson BC this morning after coffee with Ken an Marion and proceeded on a route that Kens suggested Hwy 6 up to Vernon. He was right the views were fantastic as we followed the Slocan river up a valley to the town of Naksup. Then following the Upper Arrow Lake South to Fauquier a quaint little town we proceeded along the lake to Needles where we took our first BC ferry across the lake. The ferry ride only took about 15 minutes bu was a great break in the day to be out on the lake.
From there the driving was again thru valleys and over passes that were large farms with hay and cattle to Vernon, BC. I have a cousin here Glenn and his wife Madrid and we called them but were unable to contact them. We had dinner in a sports bar here but Bev's dinner was not to her liking.
Later I drove a little farther than I would have liked but to me this was a great spot to camp for the night.
Hope to have some pictures for you tomorrow but want to get some sleep now.
Lorne
