Sorry folks still no internet service. You may think that the bears got us or the moose or some other wild animal but the truth is we are now on the Alaska Maritime Hwy on the ferry ship SS Taku. We arrived at the terminal office before 12:00 when it opened and were told that space was available but no cabin. So we booked to Juneau with stops in Ketchikan, Wrangle and Petersburg, possibly Sitka also. When we arrive in Juneau we will off board and spend a few days at the Mendenhal Glacier. We did not book to Haines yet as the ships are not full and booking does not seem to be a problem.
When onboard Bev went to the purser and was able to secure an outside cabin so now she is happy, she has a bed a shower and a potty. Little things make her so happy. Paying for them is my responsibility. Scruffie is down below deck in the RV and I don’t think that he is too happy.
As always the Inland Passage is a thing to behold with islands and coastline on both sides and the ocean churning around us. No whales seen so far but I did bring up the binoculars and if all goes well like last time we might get lucky.
Before we left Prince Rupert we went back to photograph the eagles and they were spectacular.
Well possibly an update from Ketchikan if we can get internet service. We may get off for an hour or so depending on the schedule to have a bite to eat. Right now it is ship food and BC Ferries was a better bet for that. Still the view is great.
