Nelson, BC

We had a delightful trip from Christina Lake to Nelson, BC with my cousin Ken and his wife Marianne in the lead and us following. We climbed a long streach of highway and then proceeded down long vallies with the Kooteney River or the Columbia River on our passenger side of the RV. Along the way we stopped to photograph Nancy Green Lake with a snow capped peak in the backround that Ken and his wife have climbed.
Nelson, BC was a hub of the mining industry at the turn of the century with silver, zinc, and lead, as well as forestry. Now, it is both quaint and full of activity from the tourist industry and its parks and recreation are amazing.
At one time the town had its own powerr plant and power was so cheap that it ran an electric trolly system which has been revived today for tourists and locals.
Ken took us by the hospital he practiced at and we browsed the downtown shops and ate at a pub for lunch.
We saw Ken's chainsaw artwork and his guerrila park and flower garden.
Tonight it is dinner with relatives and tomorrow wehead north to Prince Rupert.
Enjoy the picures. Sorry trouble loading pictures will try later
