Oscar at Zunzal
We did not leave the beach area hear as it was nice to relax, for the day and to just wade in the surf and relax and go to dinner on the beach, and relax and not do anything and relax. Did I say that we relaxed here.
I also met Oscar who owns this complex and the really neat hotel, restaurant and bar next to this one. He lived in Glendale for about 20 years growing up while the war was going on down here. When I asked him why he went to Glendale he said something like to save his life.
Oscar is just now building the place we are at and the pool here and Jacuzzi are not yet completed but they are working hard and I would have to say that considering they just started last May they should finish in about another 3-4 months maximum. It will be a really neat facility with pools, waterfalls and pathways around gardens and trees. They are now just finishing the juice and regular bars and cabinetry and putting the finishing touches on the palapas and bar benches. They really know how to work with wood here and it shows in the final product. Which brought me to ask Oscar how I could find a large piece of wood for a table. Well he might have one or he would take me to a lumber yard where he buys his wood and possibly they might have what I wanted.
So off I went with him on his morning errands and we stopped by his construction yard and I saw what I thought would work really nicely. We will have to cut it in tow pieces to fit in the RV but he still has not told me how much it would cost. It is a really nice piece of wood that I believe he called Tulip wood. So tomorrow I will find out the cost hopefully and we can buy it and get it into the RV.
In the meantime we have the beach and the sun and the surf and great food at the local restaurants.
I should have said that this area is considered some of the best surfing in the world with people coming from the US, Europe and Brazil to surf here. The waves right off of our area are consistently 6-8 foot swells that just roll in forever. There are larger swells at the point not 300 yards to the south of where we are. So no wonder they all come here to surf. You have a little harder time with just swimming or being in the surf as the waves are just a little too big and too strong.
