Cataratas de Cortes to Playa del Coco

Well today was another one of those memorable RV experience days. We left our wonderful waterfall park and headed to Playa del Coco where I was going to take Bev out for another of her great seafood dinners. We stopped in Liberia at the Mega store just to resupply before heading the last 20-25 miles to the beach and our spot on the ocean harbor. Coming out of the store Bev told me that the rear passenger side of the coach looked askew. Sure enough the bottom panel that held the water tanks up had broken away from its supports and was hanging down.
Well what to do? This is something that needed an immediate fix. So off to the first mechanico across the street. Well they could not fix this but sent us to another place around the corner and down a very potholed road (all the while I am hoping it will hold. They saw the problem but were too busy to fix it and they were the only place to do it I felt in Liberia. So would you loan me the tools to fix it myself? Sure! So 1 ½ to 2 hours later the fix was done and they would not charge me anything so it was it was two cold cokes a hand shake and a very sincere gracias.
On to Playa del Coco and then the generator which had been giving me problems the last few days would not start again. There was a man on the beach whom we had met the last time we were here and he said “no problemo, I have a friend who is a great mechanico and he can fix this”. Sure enough a person wrode up on his motorcycle (Mike ) and he was a great mechanic whose father was a mechanic for the US Army. He lived here since the age of one year and spoke great English and really knew what he was doing. Probably the spark plug he said but maybe not but that is where we should start. So off he went to get a spark plug and came back about 20 minutes later. We installed (he installed ) the new spark plug and I had a spare air filter which we installed and it started up in short service. It has been running fine now under load for about 15 minutes and all seems well.
So if you have an Onan generator out there you need to change the spark plugs every 100 hours. Mine had never been changed. Again Mike did not want to accept anything for his labor but I insisted on a propina for him. We will be eating at his restaurant this evening to also repay him.
Well now we are on the beach again and all is well with the world and Bev can use her hair dryer in the morning and the microwave tonight and I can relax with a glass of vino to watch the ocean and the people on the beach. I hope that all of your problems out there in the world are as easily handled as ours have been this last week (microwave, generator, storage area for the RV, etc). You see we just have to roll with the punches and accept that all of our life has a little of the ying and the yang in it. THIS IS REALLY A GORGEOUS BEACH AND SCENIC VIEW. Wish you all were here and glad that I am.
