Paa Mul day 2

November 8, 2009
Paa Mul

You know in yesterday’s blog how I complained about the rain so much. Well unknown to me we were in a hurricane. Yessssireee, a full blown hurricane came thru Cancun while we were driving yesterday and that is what brought all of the havoc to our little adventure. Well, we survived and Big Tigre did a great job.
Today was a very low key day as I was not sure of the weather and so a trip to Cozumel was not on the agenda as planned. So we went back to Playa del Carmen and dropped off our laundry to be picked up tomorrow and then onto doing a little shopping. We were going to have the RV serviced before we head to Belize but this is Sunday (somehow I lost a day and thought that it was Saturday) so no place was open. Well one place was open but we were too tall to fit into his bays. So tomorrow we will pick up the laundry and board the ferry to Cosumel.
I was going to take the scooter with us but they told me here in the campground to just rent one when we got over there.
So today we had lunch at the campground restaurant (shrimp for Bev and a quesada for myself). Then in the afternoon we strolled over to a beach close by and I was going to go in but the water was still somewhat rough so we just turned around and came back. I did go in at the campground and the water was pleasantly warm and refreshing. The surf only a little strong getting in but the surprising thing was the water seemed saltier than where we live in Mexico. Could be the difference between the Sea of Cortez getting possibly more fresh water coming into it from the Colorado River and the Gulf of Mexico being near the Atlantic. Beats me but that is just my take on it.
So after sitting under the outdoor palapa at the restaurant and just sitting under the palapa at the restaurant and just sitting under the palapa at the restaurant we finally got off our you know what and now are sitting in the RV.
Tomorrow should be a more eventful day.
