Plymouth to Mystic, CT

Plymouth to Mystic, CT
After visiting Plimoth Plantation we drove thru RI and into CT to our present campground in Old Mystic CT. We could tell from the drive down here that this area has been warmer than up in Mass. There the leaves were bright reds and yellows and everything in between and here only a few trees have changed their color. So it will probably be a few days before the change here takes place. Oh well, time to slooooow down and see the sights and wait for nature to catch up with us.
Tonight was special though in the campground. After dinner around 6:30 there must have been about 8-10 flights of Canadian Geese heading south. How, magnificent they look with their V formation and the honking noises that they make as they fly to their southern homes. Nothing can speak more of fall and the coming of winter than the geese going south.
Well tonight I shall try to go to the wifi hotspot in the campground. It has been almost a week since we have been able to get reception.
Tomorrow we will try to go see Mystic as it was once a great shipbuilding area and if we can there is a Nautilus sub for viewing. Ah, this has been such a great journey of adventure for us both. I wish that you all could be along but am glad that not everyone in the world is here at the same time we are.
Weather wise the last week has been great. No rain and this is as they call it a wonderful Indian Summer. That time of autumn when the days are warm with a shirt and the nights are chilled. The sun comes out and the leaves begin to fall so that you know the leaf raking and burning season is at hand. Oh to smell the sweet scent of burning leaves.
